Ziggy the giraffe is one of the moms people can visit at the Milwaukee County Zoo on Mother's Day, when moms get free admission.

Mother's Day this year is Sunday, May 14. Here are some places in and around Milwaukee that are offering free admission to moms on their special day.

Milwaukee County Zoo

Moms receive free admission at the Milwaukee County Zoo on Mother's Day, although parking and special attraction fees still apply. The zoo also recommends that moms celebrate animal moms during their special day, by visiting Quinn the prehensile-tailed porcupine, lioness Patty Sharptooth and giraffe moms Ziggy and Marlee.

Milwaukee Public Museum

In the interest of "recognizing the diversity of family structures," the Milwaukee Public Museum offers one free adult admission per group on Mother's Day.

Harley-Davidson Museum

Moms receive free admission to the Harley-Davidson Museum on Mother's Day. There will also be a special Mother's Day brunch going on at the museum's MOTOR Bar & Restaurant.

Discovery World

According to Discovery World's public relations manager Paul Fladten, "all moms are invited to spend the day endlessly exploring Discovery World at no cost" on Mother's Day.

Old World Wisconsin

On Mother's Day, moms receive admission to Old World Wisconsin, where they're encouraged to visit "Life on the Farm" buildings, hike nature trails, visit the general store and get a drink at the stagecoach inn.

Museum Member Swap Day

People (not just moms) who have memberships to the Milwaukee Public Museum, the Milwaukee Art Museum, Betty Brinn Children's Museum, Charles Allis Art Museum or Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum can get free admission to any of the other museums as part of Member Swap Day.
