Are the kids getting restless indoors this winter? Milwaukee-area families tested some products that can help cure some of that winter boredom.

American Girl Pretty in PaperAmerican Girl

Crafts for party fun, room decor and personal style. $24.99, americangirl.com

The American Girl Pretty in Paper is a great product and would make an excellent present for a girl's birthday. My girls both loved using the paper provided and using our own to make different crafts, such as photo props, a paper chandelier and origami boxes. There are a variety of crafts that use different skill ranges, so the book can grow with my younger daughter. There is also a section with hints and tips for successful paper crafting. This product exceeded my expectations, and I will be recommending it to others who enjoy American Girl and its products!

Ultimate Factivity Collection: Animals, Ultimate Factivity Collection: Fashion Fun Factivity Books

Stickers, educational information and activities for kids. $11.07 each, dk.com

My kids loved these books. They are 7—almost 8—and were extremely excited when I brought these home. There are tons of stickers in them, which is one of the things that drew their

attention. In addition, the pictures, especially in the animal book, are amazing. There are many activities to keep the kids busy, and they are very educational, but my kids didn’t get bored with them. I am going to bring these on our next trip during the flight. They will be great for travel.

The World Almanac and Book of Facts 2015World Almanac

America’s best-selling reference book. $13.99, worldalmanac.com

Traditionally a reference book, the World Almanac proved to be entertaining for even my young boys, who love to learn interesting facts. I played a game with them I’ll call “Did you know.” They liked to guess the

populations of various cities and states. It’s also a great book to just flip through, especially if you are someone who loves sports statistics.
