Child development experts generally agree that the early childhood years are the most important for setting the stage for children's strong health, strong education and well-being in the years to come.

MATC and Milwaukee PBS are taking that information to heart as they present "What Matters Most: Your Child's First Five Years" on Saturday, March 4, from 1 to 3 p.m.

The event, which will be held at MATC's C Building Auditorium at 1036 N. 8th St., will feature renowned pediatrician Dr. Dipesh Navsaria along with a panel of local experts.

The panel will be presenting information and taking questions from parents and caregivers in the audience about how your interactions with your children can help -- or hinder the development of their brains. They'll also share some simple and fun things you can do to give your kids the best opportunity to have healthy brain development.

Tickets are free, but organizers ask that you register in advance. Head over to their website for more information and to get your free ticket.
