Southeastern Wisconsin families will once again have the chance to take behind-the-scenes tours of over 150 buildings in the Milwaukee area the weekend of September 17.

At Doors Open MKE, you'll be able to do things like travel to the upper floors of Central Library to discover why a lion -- yes, an actual lion -- once lived there, your kids can channel their inner spy to figure out the password to gain access to the Safe House, and your family can learn how a bridge operator lets traffic go through at the Wells Street Vertical Lift Bridge.

There are tons of free tours available throughout the area on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 from 10 am-5 pm.

Check out the website to plan your itinerary, and discover how to pick up a Family Passport at one of the 24 buildings that have been identified as especially interesting for families.
