Kids can create a variety of art projects, get their faces painted, enjoy entertainment at the children's stage and more at the annual Lakefront Festival of Art Friday through Sunday.

The annual fundraiser for the Milwaukee Art Museum features more than 170 artists and 15 categories of work, including ceramics, jewelry, painting, photography and printmaking. 

The Children's Area includes:

 

  • PNC’s Grow Up Great Mobile Learning Adventure
  • Face painters, jugglers and magicians who will be roaming the children’s area
  • Live entertainment on the Children’s Stage
  • Children’s Art Tent: Paper Marbling Magic, 3-D Hot Air Balloons, 3-D Prickly Pear Cacti, Georgia O’Keefe Flowers, Tiffany Lamps and Rose Windows, Chalk Rubbings, Easels and Model Magic, Special Fathers Day project:Paper Bag Busts of Dad.

 

Festival-goers can visit the Lakefront Food Court, with dining options from Le Reve Patisserie & Cafe, Hue Vietnamese Restaurant & Lounge, Cold Spoons Gelato and more. The festival has a wine garden and beer garden as well. Tastings at the beer garden run from 1 to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Rapper WebsterX and twin-sister folk duo Andi & Alex will perform at the festival. Other acts include Paul Cebar and the Tomorrow Sound, guitarist Shonn Hinton and the Shotgun, and folk acts New Boyz Club and Grasping at Straws.

Advance admission tickets for $10 are available until Thursday. Otherwise, adult admission is $17, $15 for seniors and students and $10 for museum members. Three-day passes are available for $25. Kids 12 and younger, veterans, active military and Wisconsin teachers for grades kindergarten through 12 with valid ID can enter for free.
