Chocolate Festival

May 27-29,

Burlington's annual Chocolate Festival features games, rides, live music, eating contests and lots of chocolate. Located off Highway 36 at 680 Maryland Ave., Burlington, the gates open Thursday, May 27 at 5 p.m.

Maggiano's Family Kite Festival

May 28-29,

See the launch of 500 kites this weekend as part of the 29th annual Maggiano's Family Kite Festival at Veterans Park. The two-day event also features kite wranglers, including The Windjammers and Chicago Fire. Hosted by Gift of Wings, the free event runs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday along Milwaukee's lakefront.



June 10-12,

This festival has a Children & Family Stage, which features Kohl’s Color Wheel, Kohl’s Wild Theater, face painting, a magic show and more. General one-day admission is $13 in advance or $17 at the gate. Admission is free for children 12 and younger. Henry Maier Festival Park, 200 N. Harbor Dr., Milwaukee.

Polish Fest

June 17-19,

Enjoy the arts, culture, food and tradition of Poland. Friday and Saturday: 12 p.m. to midnight. Sunday: 12-8 p.m. Admission is $12 at the gate. Henry Maier Festival Park, 200 N. Harbor Dr., Milwaukee.

Lakefront Festival of Art

June 17-19,

Celebrate art, food, music and family fun. Children’s activities include face painters, jugglers, magicians, live entertainment and one-of-a-kind masterpiece in the Children's Art Tent. Admission is $17/adult or $10 in advance. The event is free for children ages 12 and younger. On the grounds of the Milwaukee Art Museum, 700 N. Art Museum Dr., Milwaukee.

Greek Fest

June 24-26,

Hosted by Annunication Greek Orthodox Church, admission is free to this celebration of Greek culture. Wisconsin State Fair Park, 640 S. 84th St., West Allis.

Strawberry Festival

June 25-26,

Celebrate all things strawberry! In addition to all the food, the littlest festival-goers will enjoy Henry’s Kids Korner with pony rides, a petting zoo, bounce houses and more. Admission is free to this festival, which takes place downtown Cedarburg from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.


June 29-July 3, July 5-10,

Every day from 12-7 p.m., children can create hands-on projects, see live theater and more at the Kohl’s Captivation Station. General admission is $20. Weekday admission tickets are also available for $13. Admission for children ages 3-10 is $8. Free for children 2 and younger.


Bastille Days

July 14-17,

One of the nation's largest French-themed celebrations, Bastille Days is a free, four-day bash with music, an international marketplace, French and Cajun cuisine, entertainment and a 43-foot replica of the Eiffel Tower. Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m.-11:30 p.m.. Saturday from 10 a.m.-midnight. (Kids' activities start at 10 a.m.) Sunday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Cathedral Square Park, 520 E. Wells St., Milwaukee.

South Shore Frolics

July 15-17, 

Fireworks, bands, classic cars, art show, fish fry, games and more! Friday starting at 4 p.m. The Itty Bitty Parade for kids and dogs is Saturday at noon. Free kids games on Saturday from 4-5 p.m. South Shore Park, 2900 South Shore Dr., Bay View.

Festa Italiana

July 22-24,

Fireworks go off each evening at about 10:15 p.m. Open Friday from 2 p.m. to midnight; Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-midnight and Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Tickets are $10 for advance admission or $13 at the gate. German Fest

July 29-31,

Family fun includes fireworks, parades, carousel organs, German candies, Dachshund Derby, Glockenspiel, German dance performances and more. Open Friday from 3 p.m.-midnight. Saturday from 12 p.m.-midnight. Sunday from 12 p.m.-9 p.m. Sunday is Family Fun Day to honor and benefit the MACC Fund, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Make-A-Wish and the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern Wisconsin. Dragon Boat Festival

July 30,

Watch teams race in dragon boats along Milwaukee's lakefront and enjoy cultural performances and local Asian cuisine. Admission is free.


Wisconsin State Fair

Aug. 4-14,

Food, entertainment, attractions, animals and more. There is something for everyone at the Wisconsin State Fair (especially food!). Wisconsin State Fair Park, 640 S. 84th St., West Allis.

Irish Fest

Aug. 18-21,

The sounds and sights of Ireland come to Milwaukee's lakefront for four days in August. Kids 12 and younger receive free admission every day! General admission is $20; Free for children 12 and younger. Henry W. Maier Festival Park, 200 N. Harbor Dr., Milwaukee.

Zoo A La Carte

Aug. 18-21,

'Feast with the Beasts' at the annual event that features food from local restaurants and both local and national bands. Milwaukee County Zoo, 10001 W. Bluemound Rd., Milwaukee.

Mexican Fiesta

Aug. 26-28,

Experience the tastes, sounds and culture of Mexico. Open 12 p.m.-midnight on Friday; 12 p.m. to midnight on Saturday and 12 p.m. to midnight on Sunday. Regular admission is $15 at the gate for ages 9 and up. Admission is free for children 8 and younger.
