The Milwaukee Art Museum is launching a new membership program aimed at offering more access to local families.
The new program, which is supported in part by a grant from Nordstom, will give families who qualify for specific forms of public assistance a year-long membership to the museum for $20.
It includes two adult admissions plus admission for children 17 and younger. Other benefits include 10 percent off at the Museum Store and Cafe Calatrava, reduced parking rates and more.
“We believe art education and unique cultural experiences are a right for every child and every family,” said Dan Keegan, director of the Milwaukee Art Museum. “This new membership program makes those experiences more accessible, and that’s something we’re very passionate about.”
Families are eligible with proof of public assistance from WIC, FoodShare and BadgerCare.
The museum will host a Family Access Membership kick-off event during the Kohl’s Art Generation Family Sundays event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 15.May 15.
Applications for membership will start May 15 in person or by downloading a form at mam.org.
