Earth Day and Arbor Day help to make April the month to think about how to best care for the earth.

If you have a child who cares deeply about trees, if you want to teach the kids a good lesson about conservation or if you're just looking for a great way to get the family outdoors, the Waukesha County Parks Department has a great event for you.

On Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to noon, Waukesha County is celebrating Arbor Day with a tree planting at Nashotah Park, at W33 N5113 Highway C.

The goal of the tree plantingĀ is to help enhance and preserve the county's natural areas.

The daily park entrance fee will be waived for those participating in the planting, and the event will be held rain or shine. You're free to just drop in with your family, although if you're planning a big outing (a group of 10 or more), please call 262-896-8074 to let them know you're coming!
