In the inaugural episode of "I'm gonna count to 3," the MetroParent Magazine podcast, editor Amy Schwabe and designer Matt Colby shared some of their favorite nostalgic destinations -- local places they loved as children that their kids have now claimed as their own favorites. Here's where to go to check these places out for yourself!

1. The Milwaukee County Zoo is the place to go if you're like Matt and his kids and perk up whenever you see the Humboldt penguins and train!

2. If your kids are like Amy's and love baseball but have peanut allergies, check out the Miller Park website to buy tickets to one of the Brewers peanut-controlled games, taking place June 2, June 30, July 14, August 9 and September 21.

3. Speaking of baseball, Matt loves taking his kids to check out the interactive fun of minor league baseball at Timber Rattlers games in Appleton.

4. Amy's girls love heading out to the Boerner Botanical Gardens when the lilacs are in bloom.
