The Milwaukee Art Museum is doing its part to help build community in Milwaukee.
Families who came to the art museum during January got the chance to contribute to a community mural in the Kohl's Art Generation studio. That mural, built by the community, is now going to become a permanent part of the community at Penfield Montessori Academy on N. 24th St.
According to the Art Museum, "The mural was inspired by Penfield’s mission of learning and growing together as well as the exotic flowers, plants and birds in Nature and Opulence: The Art of Martin Johnson Heade."
The mural, unvelied on February 21, will grace the entrance to the school and remind all who enter of the importance of art in children's lives.
